Government & Airline Taxes and Fees

• NAV Canada Surcharge (Q)
  Applies to all flight segments within Canada, to/from the U.S., and international destinations.
  Amount: Up to CAD$40.00 per segment
• Insurance Surcharge (Q)
  Applies to flights wholly within Canada.
  Amount: CAD$6.00
• Canada Airport Improvement Fee (SQ)
  Charged by Canadian airports for facilities improvements.
  Amount: Up to CAD$40.00
• Air Travellers Security Charge (CA)
  Canadian government–assessed fee for security costs.
  Amount: Up to CAD$33.00
• Fuel Surcharge (YQ)
  Applies to flights from Canada to international destinations.
  Amount: Up to CAD$300.00
• International Taxes & Fees
  Includes foreign inspection, customs, and security charges.
  Amount: Varies – Approx. CAD$250.00
• HST/QST/PST (XG, RC, XQ)
  Applicable federal and provincial taxes on tickets.
  Amount: Varies by region
• U.S. Travel Facilities Tax (US)
  Applies to certain flights to/from Alaska or Hawaii.
  Amount: CAD$8.00
• U.S. Federal Segment Fee (ZP)
  Per flight segment within the continental United States.
  Amount: CAD$3.60
• Passenger Facility Charge (XF)
  Airport-imposed fee for improvements (max 4 per itinerary).
  Amount: Up to CAD$4.50
• September 11th Security Fee (AY)
  U.S. government fee for aviation security.
  Amount: CAD$2.50 per enplanement (max CAD$10.00 round trip)
• U.S. International Transportation Tax (US)
  For flights arriving in or departing from the U.S., Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  Amount: CAD$16.10
• U.S. APHIS Fee (XA)
  For flights originating abroad (except Canada) and landing in the U.S.
  Amount: CAD$5.00
• U.S. Immigration Fee (XY)
  For international arrivals into the U.S., Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  Amount: CAD$7.00
• U.S. Customs User Fee (YC)
  For arrivals from outside the U.S. Customs territory.
  Amount: CAD$5.50

 

Rawfares.ca Service Fees

In addition to airline and government taxes, Rawfares.ca may charge service fees depending on your booking type. These fees are clearly shown before payment.

• Airfare Booking Fees
  Up to CAD$140.00 per passenger (standard economy fares).
• Business/First Class: Up to CAD$200 per passenger
• Multi-city trips: Up to CAD$100 per passenger
• Foreign originations: Up to CAD$50 per passenger
• Complex bookings via call center: CAD$10 – CAD$275 per passenger
• Hotel Booking Fees
  Up to CAD$37.00 per night, per room
• Car Rental Fees
  Up to CAD$30.00 per rental
